Carissa doesn't know who she is anymore. She and her husband, Richard, are recent empty-nesters. Richard is spending more time at work counseling his volatile clients, some of whom are starting to show up at their home. And now, Carissa just learned that she's been downsized. Carissa has already stopped trusting her husband -- and now she's not so sure she trusts God. As her world is tilting off its axis, she's offered time at a hideaway in Maui -- and hiding is exactly what Carissa wants to do. The languid Hawaiian sun, white beaches, and warmhearted people bring respite, but meeting handsome Kai causes Carissa to toy with the idea of becoming romantically involved with a man who isn't her husband. Finally, under the Maui moon, Carissa looks to God for guidance and hope. That's when she begins to discover His hand is still on her life, and that love is closer than she realizes.
